Our Friday show, live in person
PROpulsion Connect is our Friday live show brought to life in person.
Every Friday, we go live on YouTube to have practical conversations with and for financial advisers. Connect takes that same energy, format, and curiosity, and brings it into one room.
No screen between us. No watching from the side-lines. Just 70 people in Cape Town, connecting through conversations that matter.
Why Connect?
We called it Connect for a reason. This event is about creating space for financial advisers, industry partners, and the PROpulsion community to connect with each other in person.
There will be time before the show starts to arrive, grab a coffee, and meet people. There will be time after the formal programme to stay, chat, and continue the conversations.
Because sometimes the most valuable moments happen between the sessions.
What to expect
Connect will follow the spirit of our Friday live show, with a mix of short segments, and 2 longer interviews, audience questions, and live conversation.
You can expect:
- The feel of the PROpulsion Friday live show, in person
- Practical conversations for financial advisers
- Short, focused segments from industry partners
- Longer interview-style conversations with 2 guests
- A chance to ask questions from the room
- Time to connect with other advisers, partners, and the PROpulsion team
- A smaller, more personal event experience

10:45 - Guest interview 1: Are You Chasing Insane Sales or Sales Insanity? - Speaker: Juanita Vorster
Many financial planners are uncomfortable with the word “sales”, yet every advice business still needs a clear and consistent way to attract, engage and convert the right clients.
This lively, no-holds-barred conversation will explore why so many firms struggle with feast-or-famine pipelines, why random activity is often mistaken for progress, and how advisers can tell whether they are growing their business or simply growing their busyness.
The discussion will challenge common beliefs about sales in professional services and explore how advisers can approach growth without becoming pushy, product-led or salesy. It will also introduce a simple, practical way to connect strategy, sales and systems, helping advice businesses build healthier and more sustainable pipelines.
Expect an honest, energetic and practical conversation that may change the way you think about sales in a financial planning practice.

Segment 8: Not My Circus, Not My Monkeys - Speaker: Gerrie van der Merwe, Milpark Education

12:40 - Guest interview 2: From Finfluencer to Future CFP: Why Financial Planners Need to Join the Public Money Conversation - Speaker: Nicolette Mashile
The public is already learning about money online. Some of that information is useful, some is incomplete, and some can be harmful. Yet many qualified financial planners remain largely absent from the conversation.
This interview will explore why people are increasingly turning to social media creators for financial education, what makes certain voices feel more trusted and relatable, and what the formal advice profession can learn about communication, language and public engagement.
The conversation will also examine the tension between financial education and financial advice, the responsibility that comes with speaking about money at scale, and why simply criticising finfluencers is not enough. Advisers have an important role to play in improving public financial understanding, but that means becoming more visible, more accessible and more willing to speak in ways ordinary people understand.
This is not a debate about whether advisers or finfluencers are better. It is a forward-looking conversation about who gets to shape the public money conversation, how trust is built, and what could happen if more qualified professionals added their voices in a useful and responsible way.
- 14:00 - End of the official program
-
14:00 - 15:30 Snacks and connect
