Ep. 23 – Running a virtual financial planning practice with Derek Notman

Derek Notman pivoted his financial planning practice from a face-to-face business to a completely virtual practice back in 2013. As Derek puts it, he has “many arrows in his back” from doing this. He learned a ton of lessons in the process which led to him creating a system that helps other financial advisers across the globe to go virtual without having to learn these (sometimes expensive) lessons by themselves.

In this episode, Derek and I talk about:

  • What he’s practice was like before going virtual
  • What led to him making this change
  • How it all works
  • How his existing clients at the time reacted to the change (an how he approached it)
  • Challenges he had to overcome
  • Knowing what he knows now, how would he go about doing it today
  • ConneqtorVAS and how it helps financial advisers do what Derek did (but without the time, expenses and lessons required)
